Home/Components/Fabricated Tubing
Full-service tube fabrication
The Back Bay Associates is a full-service tube fabricator offering custom tube bending and copper tube fabrication for HVAC, refrigeration, and Food Service Equipment OEMs. Parts range from cut-to-length and custom-bent tubing to headers, insulated tubes, and complete bent-tube assemblies with or without fittings.

Refrigerant circuits are only as good as the tubing that connects them. A bend that flattens the tube, a joint that vibrates, or debris left inside the line will show up later as a leak or a failed compressor.

Our principals form and bend copper tube to your drawing, from single bends to multi-plane assemblies.
The tube end is opened into a cone so it can seat against a flare fitting without a separate coupling.
Send your drawing, material spec, and annual usage, and production gets scheduled around your build dates. If the assembly feeds a coil we're also sourcing for you, we coordinate both, so the tubing and the commercial HVAC coil actually meet where the drawing says they will.

A fast-growing OEM in the mobile oxygen generation industry was cutting and hand-bending a 12–15 inch copper tube in-house. As demand grew exponentially, that part became its production bottleneck, and the OEM had neither the expertise nor the CAPEX budget to automate. Back Bay partnered with our fabricated tubing manufacturer to design the cylindrical copper part for high-volume automated bend-to-shape production at a competitive price, and amortized the tooling cost over several years of units to minimize upfront investment. The OEM eliminated the bottleneck and gained capacity well beyond its growing demand, without the capital outlay.
It’s forming straight tubing into specific angles and shapes to match a drawing, commonly for refrigerant lines and fluid circuits in HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
It’s shaping the tube end (flaring, swaging, or expanding) so it can join a fitting or another tube without a separate coupling.
Debris and moisture inside the tube can contaminate the refrigerant and oil, damaging compressors and valves. That’s why refrigeration tubing is often capped or nitrogen-charged after fabrication.
